Why doesn't China export its way of life to other countries like America?
Peter Sima
If a crowd of Chinese people in China sees a husband borderline abusing the wife, Chinese people generally won’t intervene.
Generally speaking
they don’t pretend to know what’s actually going on in the family
they’re living their own life not wanting to get into unnecessary trouble.
they’re not plagued by the moral-high-ground disease
Now, extend that to a country with the same attitude.

They are desperately trying to export their culture.
They see that effort as a significant blunt or counter to the feared encroachment of western culture in China.
Tha is why there are Confucius Institutes, funded by the PRC, throughout the western world. But the vestigial Confucianism left by Mao twisted by Marxism that is taught/preached by the Confucius Institutes, is in most cases at odds with western mores in modern western nations, with the Confucian emphasis on male dominant obedience, and its failure to aknowledge individualism.
The “soft culture” of China ( movies, tv, art, and literature) is still dominated and controlled by the CCP, so it lacks the depth and breadth to fully engage with a wider world, particularly with the market they most covet - and the one they most fear - the western nations. That is why the most read and respected Chinese authors in the world live and write outside China. Few mainland movies and TV shows are sellable in the west, while their remains a small, but larger than mainland movies, market for Korean, Hong Kong, Japanese and Taiwan movies and TV shows in the west.
By and large the culture of mainland China is unacceptable to most modern nations.

Our goverment sponsed Confucius Institutite, which is a dumb idea IMO. Does that count as “exporting way of life?”
Anyway, I just can't see the benefit of “exporting way of life”. As long as it doesn't impact us directly, how people live their lives in other countries is none of our business, shoveling our lifestyle down people's throat is not beneficial if not down right harmful for China.

It’s happening, slowly.
For a while now, the Confucius Institute and, later, the Chinese government directly have been working on international exchange primarily through educational routes such as scholarships and exchange programs.
It’s fairly common knowledge that scholarships at Chinese universities are much easier to obtain than those of other countries. The reason for this is obvious: More people studying in China means China becomes increasingly prominent in the minds of foreigners.
As well as this, the Chinese film industry is becoming increasingly well-funded and the film output is increasingly high quality. Don’t be surprised if in less than 10 years time some of the biggest films are Chinese, or at least are Chinese-Western joint projects with an equal share of western and Chinese cultural representations. China is already included in a lot of Hollywood films. In fact China specifically saves the day in a few of them! In The Martian with Matt Damon, the first attempt at a shuttle launch fails, so then a secret Chinese benefactor comes along and provides the money for a new ship. There are plenty of examples like this. One of the Transformers films was even mocked for how much it sold itself out to China (look for the ‘Honest Trailers’ youtube video about it). It’s these little things that put China on the map and make it look more like a country with wealth, power and global prominence. This wasn’t the case even a few years ago.
This is known as ‘soft power’. It’s a way of becoming dominant in the world without using aggressive or economic means. It’s a way of spreading your culture so people feel more in tune with your way of life, and are thus more willing to focus their interest/money/whatever in your direction. China is slowly working on these things.
Cameron Walker, B.A. from University of Nottingham (2018)
It’s not a choice people just happen to make one day. China has only recently opened itself up to the world. America and other countries have been open for a long time. Their people have travelled a lot and have taken their culture with them.
It is a gradual process but China’s culture is starting to spread. This can be seen in things such as China town and internation celebrations of ‘Chinese new year’.

Under Mao, they did. That is why there were Maoist guerrillas in Nepal and even in the Andes.
