Hey brother I am looking at coming to china with my girl and the school I spoke to is pretty keen to hire us. We are looking at Xian. How much of a risk are we taking working with out a z? Is enforcement bad? Any tips be great! Thanks

----> +The New York Nomad 420, almost no risk at all, well, definitely it is still there, but I know 80-90%of people working here without Z visa. Also it's more important in major cities like Beijing, Shanghai, etc. Xian is not that popular from what I know, hence you shouldn't have problems, mate. I suggest you come and see the place and only then sign the contract, because they can promise a lot once you are outside of China, but then when you come - it can be completely different situation. Even though the contract without working visa doesn't mean shit, you can just leave without any problems, I suggest you asking many questions about your salary, holidays, working hours etc. You should see the complete picture before you start working. ----> there are different agencies in Hong Kong that can help you with it. You just pay about 1000$ for a 1 year business visa now. It depends on your nationality though.

What's the possibility of being caught by chinese police if a foreigner is teaching English with an overstaying tourist visa? Do Chinese police check foreigners' passports regularly? Is it possible for a foreigner to take train or aircraft with an overstaying visa? If a person overstays his visa in China for long time without being found,what will happen when he pass Chinese customs to go home,only paying for fine or in jail and blacklisted?

一个外国人用过期的旅游签证教英语被中国警察抓到的可能性有多大？中国警察会不会定期检查外国人的护照？外国人可以用过期签证坐火车搭飞机吗？如果一个人在中国签证过期很长时间而没有被发现，他过中国海关回家时会怎么样呢？只需付罚款，还是坐牢，还是被列入黑名单？

----> no, almost not at all :) but I do understand some basic phrases and can say some words :) you don't really have to speak Chinese to work here :)
