Of course everyone hates the US, the US has been fucking the world up ever since they came into existance. They fucked Europe over in both world wars, especially in WW2, they destabilized the entire middle east, and they've done countless of other interventions world wide, often for a gain way smaller than the cost for the other party, or simply because they think they can somehow magically solve everything. Millions have died due to the US world wide, but Americans don't even realize this. They think the entire world looks up to them as if they are the greatest country on earth. It's amazing how backwards Europe and the middle east are? Well it's not that amazing how backwards the middle east is. It's downright hilarious how some people put a few seconds of brain power and argue they know better than years of research done by multiple brilliant minds. To add insult to injury they fail to understand the most basic concepts of what they're commenting about: 1. This is relative to a country's size (measured in GDP) not to its total output, which means that a country with a low GDP can do less than a country with a high GDP and still score higher on these charts. Simplified scenario: Average Joe donating $100 will score more "Good points" than Bill gates donating $1.000.000 2. It measures the effort a country puts in being Good to other countries by NOT being Selfish, again relative to its size. Simplified, here's how I see this: if a country discovers the cure to cancer and decides to commercialize it (think patents and royalties) to profit off of every sale, that country may actually lose "Good points". Sure, they would've done a great good to every country by discovering it but they were selfish about it. To earn "Good points" they would've needed to be altruistic and allow any company in the world to manufacture it free of royalties. Likewise if the US were to discover the cure for cancer and were altruistic about it they would score fewer "Good points" than if a country like Romania was to do it instead, even though the overall impact would've been exactly the same. Understanding how this video can be a challenge so the idiotic comments are to be expected. It reminds me of this life changing quote: “Think of how stupid the average person is, and realize half of them are stupider than that.”

So when we boil it all down.. this point of the index only has partly something to do with "Prosperity and Equality" and needs way more differentiated data. At this point I can only see points to back up "prosperity", but nothing towards "equality".
