The complete truth is not shown. The fact is that Nehru was shit scared of the military.
The defense minister menon was more interested in foreign affairs then defense. He travelled all over the world but never bothered to visit the indian armed forces anywhere in India. He stopped all ordinance factories from producing weapons and ammuniation. In fact at the time of war all ordinance factories where producing household utensils instead of weapons.
The Chinese prepared for war right from the time they got independence. Nehru was destroying the indian army right from Indpendence.The Chinese loved nehru. They considered him to be the most stupid politician a country can get.
The war was necessary from the Chinese view point. The wanted to tell India what can happen if India ever opposes China in the future. And they were more then 100% successful. Even today the Indian politicians are shit scared of china. Even today they dont have the guts to oppose China on any issue. What a shame.

Then there is the difference in mentality. Nehru, the idealist socialist could not understand Chinese communism. He thought that with his close friends in the West and his Cambridge education he'd be a bridge between China and the West and thus the most important statesman in Asia. Instead, the West ignored him and the Chinese considered him a "running dog of the US and UK". He did not see that China already saw itself the equal of the US, having successfully stopped US gains in Korea in 1952. The strategic blunder I think was not forcefully supporting the Tibetans in 1958-59 . Of course, that is easy for us to say in hindsight. Even today, our media is happy to tomtom about "Tiger vs. Dragon" when in fact China and India are two different beasts entirely. As a country we're afraid of confrontation. Bangladeshi army fires on our soldiers, Sri lankans capture our fishermen, and the nepalese cannot stop the ISI from shipping RDX into india through its territory. How a country is treated begins with what kind of an image it projects of itself.

Truth is , China is now far ahead of India, be economically or military wise, it has better infrastructure and hence enjoys an edge when in comes to the frontier areas.
It enjoys 'veto' power (courtesy of Nehru!) and hence beats India in the international diplomatic arena too.
China cannot be defeated, the only solution is to 'CONTAIN CHINA'.
And the best way to contain China is by maintaining strategic relations with Japan, South Korea, the ASEAN (particularly Vietnam and the Philippines) and most important with the USA (with their pivot to Asia-Pacific).
China prides itself on being the world's factory, but this factory needs energy (Oil and Gas), raw materials and customer (EU and US)orders to function.
China is trying hard to procure these, and that's their vulnerability! 
If this factory shuts down, millions of Chinese get out of jobs, they protest and the Communist party loses its support among the masses and the world too.
We cant shut that factory, but we can surely drive them out of work.
'Made in China' needs to be superseded with 'Made in India' & made in 'among above countries friendly to India'.
Remember, military war is not the solution here, they can only be humbled when defeated economically.....

Many indians do not credit Nehru as a good prime minister but I think he did a lot for India, he laid the foundations of science and technology, fruit of which India is reaping today. He was the one who cunning went to UN to stop 48 war otherwise Kashmir could have been freed in 48.

Nehru was an overconfident asshole who let 1962 downfall in both diplomatic front and military front. He never cared to bolster the military capacity, and if he was so serious about Aksai Chin why did not he put forces on it, why was he waiting for China to build a road on it, it was a complete intelligence failure on Aksai Chin, and all the time he played into Chinese hands. Also, he never used airforce in the whole scenario。 China then never had an airforce, Chinese never used airforce in 1950 Korean War as well when US Navy and Airforce were bombing their positions on the korean front. Alos, why China never engaged with India during 1950s because it was busy in the korean war they were smart enough not to have tensions on 2 sides of their borders simultaneously.

If you had any inclination to do any research for yourself, you would realize that it was India who invaded China and provoked the Chinese to crush the Indians. Go search up Neville Maxwell, he has written extensively upon this issue. And if China invaded India right now, there is nothing that could stop China due to the fact that China has far superior infrastructure built on their side of the China-India border. Russia won't help because they value their relationship with China more than their relationship with India, and the US wouldn't help because it would be far too costly to fight with China thousands of miles away on foreign lands where they do not have a strong foothold (although they are the most powerful country militarily, they have little presence in South Asia and their ability to project power in the region is being eroded by Chinese deals in the area. As for the surrounding nations around India, pretty much none of them have good relations with India, so no help there either. Perhaps, India would receive support from Southeast Asian countries that are displeased with China, such as Vietnam or the Philippines. Perhaps their scrawny armies could help out, good luck there. China spends around 150 billion USD a year on its military compared to 35 billion USD in India, and it has a much larger army than India. Plus, throw in the fact that China is developing its own modern cutting edge technologies while incorporating the best parts of Western technology and that China makes its own weapons, compared to India which just buys Western technology and is reliant upon that. Of course, a Chinese-Indian war is stupid and pointless in the first place, as there would be no reason for China to take over and control a country full of poverty sometimes worse than the poorest countries in Africa, and that India is just as polluted but far less wealthy. And though the Indian army is smaller and receives far less funding, they would still cause many casualties in an all out war. It would be like repeating the American mistake in Vietnam, except on a larger scale. No real reason to be there, so therefore no incentive for invasion. Good luck with your fantasies about getting revenge, it probably will not happen in this lifetime, not unless India becomes a real player. If they were a real player, they would be on the United Nations security council.

Well now, this statement of yours certainly does stand out in contrast to your earlier statement where you said that Chinese people are "bloody back stabbers", and that China would "taste defeat" if they tried to invade India. Though the second remark would probably never happen seeing as how China is far more militarily and economically powerful than India, I do not begrudge you that for if China was the aggressor with no reasonable cause, then yes they do deserve to taste defeat (no matter how unlikely). As for the first remark, that was rather distasteful and revealed your dearth of knowledge on the subject at hand. I can understand why you might see China as a foreign invader, due to India's own extensive history of colonization by foreign powers. But you must remember that China was also subjected to this as well, with many foreign powers of the time like Great Britain, France, Japan, Germany, USA, etc. all trying to cut China up into pieces for themselves. China came out of WWII stronger militarily than India due to having fought the Japanese in many encounters in order to kick them out. But Nehru obviously did not take this into account, for he thought arrogantly that somehow India was stronger and could bully the Chinese into accepting the McMahon line, established by the despised British Empire. Clearly, this did not work out, but somehow the Indian media completely ignored this fact and made it look as if China was the aggressor that betrayed India and all of what the "Hindi Chini Bhai Bhai" slogan stood for. And from there on, generations of Indian youth grew up hearing tales about how "evil China" attacked and humiliated India, thus stirring up hate and resentment of Chinese people. As far as I'm concerned, I don't really have hard feelings towards India, and it would be for the better if India and China could cooperate more often. Respect for each other is necessary in order to establish trust.

My Dear Friend,Thanks for having good feelings towards india.india too capable of defending itself from any threat.as far as economy is concerned we not that much backword people as you are thinking.stop degrading indians ok.show some respect to nieghbours.Pakistan is also our nieghbour country and with them also we have have some issues but we indians never said we are more powerful in defence and economically developed country.we never said pakistan is dirty.even though they are against country we still respect them.2 Months back india and pakistan both faced flood in Kashmir,but we extended helping hand to them also by providing food shelter for flood victims.if we see a fire we have to put water on it not blow air.I have lot of Respect towards China and Chinese people.but what hurt's me is you used some faul word like "fucking india curry".these kind of word make anybody respond sharply.Please Don't use use such language.our culture,tradition,are almost the same with each other.just because of the border dispute both of us are an enemies.war might have happened for number of reasons,it doesn't stoped any Business with both the country.even with Pakistan we have good Business.you can see just 6 months ago our Respected Prime Minister given Invitation to all the Respected Leader of Asian Countries to his Oath taking Ceremony,& everyone Attended too.we should create Friendly atmosphere for friendly Relationship.i hope you got my point.now both of our country leaders are looking forward for good relationship,let us hope for best.better both we stop the war chapter and begin a friendship chapter.i want your friendship hope you too want the same.well at the end i want to say that "SARVE JANAH SUKHINO BHAVANTU"(this is Sanskrit Language) which means,every people,living things,live happily,prosperously and peacefully.

I used to hate Jawaharlal Nehru but after watching this I have utmost respect for him. we would never understand his plight as a prime minister of an almost  broken country which had been on a verge of a civil war.. HE avoided the issue of border talks with china as he was well aware of the fact that India was not in a condition to face a war with China and so he wanted things to resolve cordially. but when a war was inevitable he had to do it . He saw this coming ever since and all he wanted was to avoid any aggression as INDIA was in no economic and nuclear position to have a war. Iam a hardcore BJP supporter but I do understand Mr.Nehrus opinion now. We can't forget his contributions in uniting Indian states and criticising him just by his few decisions is wrong on every level .
We criticise MODI for so many policies but all he wants is a bright future for India .same is the case with all other PRIME MINISTERS of india. Their job is way too tough for us to understand so for once we must stop judging them so harshly. (waiting for hate comments)
