BEIJING (AP) — China has created three new militarybodies as part of reforms to modernize its military — the world's largeststanding force — and improve its fighting capacity.

State television on Saturday showed President XiJinping giving military flags to the leaders of the three new units — a generalcommand for the People's Liberation Army, a missile force and a strategicsupport force. At the ceremony, which took place Thursday, Xi and PLA officersand soldiers sang the national anthem.

Would be nice it AP would take the time to do a little research. China's army,People's Liberation Army Ground Force is only 1.6 million-strong. People'sLiberation Army is the equivalent of our Department of Defense and the figurealso includes navy, air force and strategic rocket personnel. 
In case you are wondering, the PLA has 2.3 million active duty and 0.5 millionreserves, 2.8 million total. The DoD has 1.4 million active duty and 1.1reserves, 2.5 million total. If China had the same ratio of military topopulation that the US does, the PLA would total 10.7 million.

As a marine combat veteran I know thatnumbers do not win wars. Technology does not win wars. Tactics win wars. Byusing tactics you can hamper enemy troops movements using terrain &weather. Technology is also effected the same way. History has proven time& time again that small unit tactics can defeat large armies.

The only real thing that China has is their200 million man army and human wave attacks.
However, this is a new age and those attacks will be stopped by a small nukeand therefore, it is not a deterrent anymore. They are stealing our technologyand trying to build a new military with high-tech weapons. This is the new ageof war.
