China's investment in Europe is growing. Our cover leader this week explains why the money is welcome, but not when it is used to buy political influence.

Our cover this week focuses on China's investment in Europe, which over the past few years has increased hugely into everything from industrial companies to airports and infrastructure, and to football clubs and media. Much of this is for profit - it's private and it's harmless.

The West is famous for playing double standards games, by far there's no sign or valid evidence of Chinese intervention in the Western politics, but meanwhile there are tons of evidence and facts telling you the West is intervening internal affairs of African countries and middle East countries, they played and still playing dirty hands behind those continuing conflicts in those areas. in the age of automation and robots, all products are produced far more efficiently and cheaply. hence all humans supposed to enjoy an ample supply of products at very low cost. that, in turn, should alleviate the living standard of all human. china is playing a role where everything and anything china begins to produce, the price of that particular product drops dramatically. however this is a big no no for companies who are going after monopolistic fat profits. these greedy companies are usually from the usa. that's the main reason why trump initiated the all out trade war against china. trump wants to stop china's ability to move up along the global supply chain to kill american companies' fat profits.?

China is not forcing anyone to do business with them. Everyone gets to choose if they want to. And for most people, what's a good deal is a good deal. I can buy an American made suit for $1000, but for the same quality, I can buy it at fraction of it's cost. As most Americans, I'd choose the second option.?

We should be celebrating the division of Europe and the USA. For over half a century now, the USA has been keeping the European continent hostage. With them gone, Europe will finally be free and able to determine our own future.
China is a good "ally", because they will stay out of European hairs as long as Europe in turn keeps its nose out of China's business. In other words, we can freely engage each other when we have common ground (example: climate change) and we can freely ignore each other when we don't agree (examples: China prefers no Brexit, yet we still do Brexit. We didn't think the Three Gorge Dam was a good idea, China still built the Three Gorge Dam). That is called freedom of self-determination.

France, Germany, Italy and Sweden are being invaded by the Muslim immigrants and they don't even show the slightest intention to solve the issue. All the crime rates in these countries increased because of these immigrants and they did nothing to eradicate this issue. Shouldn't these countries or let me just generalise it, Europe, should focus more on these bunch of immigrants who do not even want to assimilate into the western culture? I am flabbergasted by the fact that they don't think it is paramount to solve this, but instead waste time to criticise China about human rights or other issues that they don't find compatible with the western values.

Chinese culture wont ever dominate over western. It wont happen, be real. The other way around will definetely happen. The jeans and t shirts you wear, the suits you people like to wear, the academics you get teached, the movies you watch, the cars you drive (if you got at least some money lol), the music you listen etc etc etc is all western. While chinese cultural influence is zero. Dont say the products, because they are western companies outsourcing their supply chain to China to benefit from low labour costs. That doesnt make the products Chinese... Chinese cultural influence is completely irrelevant outside china. Why you think your/their government protects their market so badly by restricting western companies and basically doing business like a jealous fat kid. Because they know that once they open their market their companies will get competed to shit. Their only large companies are western rippoffs that remain to exist because their competitors such as facebook etc are banned????.

Divide and rule is old British concept rather than Chinese. Investment is good and it is creating a job. Capitalism is taking its new shape and inclusive capitalism will make life seems prospering yet will create a catastrophic psychological disorder as people will be living in debts from generation to generation.
Europe need to work hard to create a wealth for the people rather than federal reserve given rules. ECB can do a lot better for their people and truly can set unprecedented rules to have freedom in policy making same as a new organization has been created to trade with Iran. This is a first step to freedom.?
