I really like this. The greatest country inworld history cannot develop and finance its own high-speed rail. What is wrongwith this picture? Is this Americaand are we Americans? We can send things to distant galaxies, but we can'tbuild things that move people from place to place here at home? But we willborrow untold sums to fight any war, anywhere anyplace, anytime. How does that(even) begin to make sense!

We don't want a high-speed-train. Who willbenefit? So you take a train from LA to SF. When you debark, you still need avehicle to get around.

I enjoy driving in California. Business people fly anyway. Thecountries with HSR don't have the infrastructure which California has to support road travel.

I'm 77 now and I'll probably be pushing updaisies by the time 2029 comes around. Unfortunately, my property and Stateincome taxes will be paying for this until I die.

Ok, did we forget how bad of a job the didon the San Fran bridge!?!? Rusted bolts and God only knows what cost cutting bsthey did!? You get what you pay for, the money will also go to China,as if they didn't have enough irk our money. Ps I work for the state,contractors are always skimming, we have to watch them like a hawk but withmassive projects it's almost impossible to catch them. They can only test somany bolts, not everything is checked, cat be unfortunately.

The Chinese in 2013 built a stadium for Costa Rica in San Jose,everything including the workers came from China, they lived on the site insmall houses with gardens so not a nickle was spent in the local economy. Theonly benefit went to China.

High speed rail up the I-5 corridor from San Diego to Seattlewould e great. However, not Chinese built. Look at the problems with thematerials from China used onthe Bay Bridge. I've ridden on Japan's BulletTrains. They are amazing: clean on time, fast, without the hassle of airportsor driving.
