Why.. why would they?
The war was started when North Korea invaded South Korea in an attempt to unify the Korean Peninsula.
The US along with a pile of other nations decided to support the South under the banner of the UN. This is something important you’re forgetting - not only did the US not start the war they didn’t even decide to respond to it independently - the UN Security Council voted on whether or not it’s member nations should enter the war.
Since Communist China wasn’t on the council at the time (that position being held by the “other” China the Republic which you might know better as Taiwan) and the USSR abstained from voting it was as far as I recall a unanimous “yes” vote from all member nations.
The US was easily the largest contributor of material and troops but that’s because it’s the US not just because they were diametrically opposed to communism at the time. They simply have a lot more of those kinds of things than any other nation even back in those days and the willingness to use them. This was probably in no small part due to a desire to send a message to the USSR and to test out the capabilities of their shiny post-WWII military which included new never before fielded gear such as helicopters.
Admittedly the US is as far as I know the only UN nation which is still present in South Korea and ready to fight if need be so it’s not so much a NK vs. the UN situation these days. But it’s not like there’s no precedent for being there and prepared since the North hasn’t really stopped making aggressive overtures since the initial attack that started the whole mess in the first place.
So yeah. Not too sure why they’d have to. If anyone should apologize it should be North Korea for starting things or *maybe* China for propping up the North and encouraging them to do it though that’s easier to say with the hindsight of seeing how North Korea turned out - I don’t think they would have if they’d realized what a mess it would turn into. If the latter hadn’t happened though there might only be one Korea right now and everyone including the Chinese the Koreans the Japanese the US Russia etc. etc. would probably be better off for it.

Why hasn’t China apologized for the Korean War? Because you know China helped to create this:
That sea of black between South Korea and China is North Korea.
Not only did South Korea ask the USA to intervene in the Korean War but South Koreans honor Americans killed in that war to this day. Because they realize what their country would be like if they had been ruled by the Kim regime.

Because countries generally don’t apologize for their actions when they are asked to assist a sovereign nation which has been invaded by a foreign power.
The United States intervened in the Korean Conflict at the request of the government of South Korea and our intervention was even officially sanctioned by the United Nations.
If anyone should apologize for the war it should be North Korea who started it.

Interesting question. Let's see now North Korea attacked the south without provocation. The United Nations voted to intervene and the US as well as many other countries came to the rescue. McArthur in his arrogance underestimated the Chinese and paid a steep price. That was the quick and dirty condensed version. Now I am confused. What did we do that deserves an apology?

Because South Korea asked the U.S. for help.
As a South Korean I can proudly say that the U.S. saved our asses twice once from Japan and once from North Korea. The U.S. has helped our country tremendously and most of us Koreans are grateful for their help in the Korean War.
The U.S. did nothing to incite the Korean War but still helped us nonetheless. Us Koreans are the ones thanking them.

If anything the U.S. probably ought to apologize to the ROK for screwing up and declaring Korea to be outside the U.S.' Pacific defensive perimeter (not to mention posting a pitifully small number of troops in the ROK); this is often thought to be a factor in Stalin's giving the go-ahead for Kim Il-sung to head south in June 1950.

TROLL alx!!!! another troll question designed to provoke arguments and anger…

The UN (not just the US) acted after declaring the NKs invasion as criminal and an act of war rushing to aid the beleaguered SK in forcing the NKs back across their boarder.
Let me ask you this troll; if criminals breaks into your home with the intention of harming you and your family then taking over the house while heavily armed…and the Police come along and fights them eventually throwing them out of your home returning your home and property to you…

The only thing the U.S. ought to apologize for is (a) not including South Korea in the defensive perimeter convincing Stalin to give Kim the go-ahead to start a war and (b) not having a plan in place from the get-go to repel a Chinese offensive from the Korean-Chinese border.
Had the latter been in place and the demarcation line fell along the Yalu River or even the Pyongyang-Wonsan line at the neck of the peninsula a lot more people would be living a capitalist liberal democracy today instead of in a socialist hellhole.
