China is dangerous to the ruling elites in Mongolia and in Vietnam but not to the South Koreans.

Not ‘dangerous’ in the sense of some sort of military invasion but dangerous in the sense of ‘situational awareness’ of the ordinary people - that a lot of them might realize that if they were only born a couple hundred miles away today they’d be many times richer.

It’s not just the money but all the goodies that come with it - schools hospitals parks transportation wi-fi food and clothing traveling abroad fun stuff etc. This is not like Europe and Africa where you can point to a whole bunch of stuff - geography nature history culture race religion etc. as the culprits. This is literally like the same people same environment shared culture and history living 200 miles apart. So the elites in both these countries are doing two things at once - trying to do as much business with China as they can so that they can stuff their own pockets while massively pushing for nationalist rhetoric domestically to make sure the grassroots never do a mental side-by-side comparison and come for them with “why are you so incompetent?” These sort of things are so obvious to outsiders - you just take a look at who’s doing the business deals and match the list against the who’s-who of the political elites it’s obvious as day.

It’s like Mrs. Albright and her guys buying up East Europe Mr. Biden’s son sitting on the Board of Ukranian oil company and Mr. Schroeder becoming the Chair of Russian’s state oil company - the money is always like 100 times more honest than the words. LOL! Then you hear the “nationalist” squealing of the grassroots and you just feel sad…

South Korea doesn’t have this problem. South Korea is richer so there’s no need for the elites to whip up nationalistic fervor to hide their own incompetence. They are in fact a highly competent lot.

Probably because South Korea is doing better in economic terms than China. So there's no envy factor.

I don't know about Vietnamese but Mongolians who hate Chinese see them as colonizers. That is a big reason for the hate.

Koreans may not hate Chinese but can have a negative image of them due to media reports of Chinese tourists behaving poorly boycott of Korean goods in China due to THAAD and others.

First since more than half of Mongolian live in China and they are quite happy with Han Chinese brother and other 54 ethnic groups so I think you may need to changed the question to something like Outer Mongolian.
