China has announced it isbuilding a city three times the size of New York, local media has reported.

The country's ruling CommunistParty revealed its plans for Xiongan New Area, which is located 62 miles southof Beijing and spans three counties, on Sunday.

President Xi spoke about theproject during a tour of Hebei. According to China Daily, he said: “Priorityshould be given to developing an area to pool noncapital functions that will beshifted from Beijing. As the world's largest population, they do. As long asyou're making a comparison though, China roughly produces twice the emissionsof that of the US while having over 4 times their population. This means thatfor every person living in China, an American produces 2-3 times moreemissions. And of course you can't forget that since Trump is in charge now,you can expect Americans to scrap its emission regulations so the emissions percapita will increase further in the US. Of course its easier for Americans toblame the other guy though.

That is a great area since it's on the main highway plustrain route and far enough from Beijing for comfort but close and convenientfor travel too. I've been there or through that area hundreds of time but theonly problem I can see stems from their losing all the agriculture in that areawhere there are hundreds of market gardens now that produce crops for thecities now.
