Trump Says EuropeIs ‘Losing’ Its Culture Because Of Immigration

President Donald Trump lambasted Europe’simmigration policies during an interview with The Sun, a British tabloid, onThursday, saying an influx of migrants fleeing violence and seeking asylum hascaused the continent to lose its culture and “changed thefabric of Europe.”

“And I don’t mean that in apositive way,” Trump told the paper in a sit-down interview. “I think allowingmillions and millions of people to come into Europeis very, very sad. I think you’re losing your culture. Look around. You gothrough certain areas that didn’t exist 10 or 15 years ago.”

In the same interview, Trumpcriticized U.K. Prime Minister Theresa May, saying her “soft Brexit”proposal would “probably kill” any trade deal with the U.S.

In recent years, some 1.8million people migrated to Europe, many seeking asylum, setting off acontinent-wide crisis and a wave of xenophobia and populism. European leadersare still struggling with how to handle the influx, and the issue has remaineda top political issue, even though migrant arrivals have plummetedthis year.

On Friday, Trump appeared tobackpedal from his remarks to The Sun. A reporter asked him about the commentsas he and May took photos ahead of their bilateral talks, and he pointed afinger, looked down and didn’t answer the question.

He went on to say that he andMay “probably never developed a better relationship” than during their dinnerthe evening before.”
“The relationship is very, verystrong, we really have a very good relationship,” he added, according to the Press Association.

White House press secretarySarah Huckabee Sanders also issued a statementovernight saying, “The President likes and respects Prime Minister May verymuch.”

Trump arrived in the United Kingdomon Thursday amid widespreadprotests over his visit with May and on the heels of a frosty NATOsummit. Picketers gathered outside the U.S.ambassador’s residence, where Donald and Melania Trump were staying for thenight, and outside Blenheim Palace, where they dinedwith May. A massive march is planned forFriday in London.

Many have gathered to protestTrump’s policies on immigration, including his administration’s travel ban on citizens fromseveral Muslim-majority nations and America’s zero tolerance policy onunauthorized immigration that led thousands of migrant children to be separatedfrom their parents.

In his interview Donald Trumpdoubled down on his opposition to immigration regardless of legality, sayingthat asylum seekers and migrants strip countries of their culture and implyingthat immigrants are linked to an increase in terrorism.

“You have a mayor who has done aterrible job in London. He’s done a terrible job,” Trump said of London Mayor Sadiq Khan, with whom thepresident has had a long-running feud. “Take a look at the terrorism that’staking place. Look at what’s going on. He’s done a terrible job.”

Trump continued, “I think thatall of this immigration has really changed the fabric of Europe. Now, I speak as an outsider when I say that, but I speak as somebody who loves Europe, and I think it’s too bad. I think he’s done avery bad job on terrorism. I think he’s done a bad job on crime.”

Khan has supported the protestsagainst Trump, even approving a giant balloon depicting the U.S. leader asan orange baby, saying Londoners “are resolutely opposed to the politics ofdespair.”

“The very specialness of ourrelationship means that we expect the highest standards from each other, and italso means speaking out when we think one side is not living up to the valueswe hold dear,” Khan wrote in a column in The Evening Standard on Thursday.“Like many Londoners I feel that now is one of those occasions.”

Trump said this week he thinksthe protests are “fine,” adding that he believes “they like me alot in the U.K.”But his schedule will mostly keep him out of London during his trip and away from thechorus of protesters. Police expect more than 100,000 to turnout anyway.

They should have done theirhomework on those immigrants. They aren't about to migrate to a country andadopt that country's cultures and/or laws. They're trying a mercy killing casehere in Houstonwhere a Muslim man killed his daughter because she married a Christian. And hedidn't understand why he was being arrested.

Its true... and it will continueas many immigrants are having far more children than native residents and manyprojections show that in the next 20 to 30 years, the native cultures and raceswill be almost wiped out...

Which is a major reason forBrexit. The EU told the UKhow many immigrants it had to accept & it was too many.

Many European friends of minefrom France, Germany, and Italy have told me the same thing. Europe has lost much of its identity because of"immigrants" who came into their countries refusing to assimilate butattempting to dictate how things are going to be now that they are there.Polish friends who travel throughout Europeechoed the same observation. It is sad indeed. And if the lefties had theirway, the U.S.would be in the same situation.
