NEW DELHI: Indian airlines are projected to need 2,300 planes worth $320 billion in the next 20 years amid unprecedented domestic passenger growth, aircraft maker Boeing said Wednesday as it raised the forecast for the country.

A senior Boeing official also flagged concerns about low fare yields of Indian carriers, saying it cannot be sustained.

As much as 85 per cent of the 2,300 planes would be narrow-body and the rest would be wide-body.

波音提高了对印度市场的预测,认为印度市场未来20年的增速前所未有,预计需要2300架飞机,价值3200亿美元。

在这2300架飞机需求中,多达85%是窄体客机,其余是宽体客机。

谁在印度设厂了,印度航空公司就从谁哪里购买

considering very high cost and limited reach of fast or bullet trains, which can't go everywhere in large country like india, air route is only viable option for future. One can't waste days travelling in slow trains. Air travel is hampered by high costs. Three main cost r .. aircraft cost, fuel cost and high salary cost. India must start immediately in direction of building civil aircrafts with highest safety standards with cheaper technology and costs. Any delay is not good.

高铁运营成本高昂,很多地方不通高铁,不是想去哪里就去哪里的,未来出行还是选择坐飞机。

坐几天的龟速火车,太浪费时间了。

而坐飞机太贵,成本主要在于买飞机的费用,燃油,员工的薪水等。

事不宜迟,印度赶紧着手飞机国产化,追求更高的安全标准,性价比更高的技术。再迟就太晚了啊。

Like china...please force boeing / airbus to setup shop here in India / Haryana and manufacture these birds. This will help indian domestic industry to learn critical technologies, avionics etc for aircraft manufacturing...But i guess its wishful thinking...One way to force these companies is to dangle the chinese factor in front of them who have successfully developed their very own desi aircraft which will help them save billions of precious dollars...
