NEW DELHI: Donald Trump called up PM Narendra Modi on Friday and congratulated him on sweeping the Lok Sabha elections. The two leaders agreed to meet during the G-20 Summit in Japan’s Osaka , scheduled on June 28-29 to discuss bilateral relations and global matters. “They also agreed to work together for further enhancing the close and strategic partnership between the two countries,” according to a statement issued by the Indian government on Friday.

新德里:周五，唐纳德·特朗普致电印度总理纳伦德拉·莫迪，祝贺他在下议院选举中大获全胜。两位领导人同意在定于6月28日至29日在日本大阪举行的20国集团峰会期间会晤，讨论双边关系和全球事务。周五印度政府发布的一份声明称:“他们还约定共同努力，进一步加强两国之间的战略伙伴关系。”

“Great things are in store for the US-India partnership with the return of PM Modi at the helm. I look forward to continuing our important work together!” the US President tweeted.
