NEW DELHI: India has “demonstrated it has the will and the capabilities to stand up to China,” said Lisa Curtis, deputy assistant to President Donald Trump and Director of the US National Security Council’s South and Central Asia Bureau.

新德里：美国总统唐纳德•特朗普的副助理、美国国家安全委员会南亚和中亚局主管丽莎•柯蒂斯表示，印度已经“证明了自己有意愿，也有能力和中国对抗”。

The US, on the other hand, supports India’s rise as a power and a net security provider in the Indian Ocean “and beyond.”
