India has successfully test-fired a longrange nuclear-capable intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) in a move thatwill further strain relations with Pakistan and China.

The country's defence ministry said thesurface-to-surface Agni-5 missile - believed to be India's most advanced ICBM -was fired on Thursday morning from Abdul Kalam island off the coast of theeastern state of Odisha.
