BEIJING: China's foreign minister Wang Yi has said that friendship and good neighbourliness between India and China are far more important than "partial frictions" on the border.

北京：中国外交部长王毅称，中印间睦邻友好关系比边界“部分摩擦”更重要。

Speaking at a symposium on China's diplomacy before leaving for New Delhi where he is attending the Russia-India-China (RIC) meeting of foreign ministers, Wang said, "Both being big developing countries, China and India have far greater shared strategic interests than concrete differences, and far greater needs for cooperation than partial frictions."

王毅在参加中俄印外长会议上称，“两国都是大的发展中国家，中印间的共同战略利益大于分歧，更需加强沟通而非制造摩擦。”

Wang specifically mentioned the 73-day border stand-off between troops of the two countries at Doklam near Sikkim which ended last August.

王毅特别提到了中印洞朗边界对峙。

At the same time, Wang made it clear that it was Beijing, which has been taking the initiative to resolve differences with India.

与此同时，王毅明确表示，是中国主动解决了与印度的分歧。
