BEIJING: China on Friday successfully launched two satellites with a single rocket to strengthen its BeiDou Navigation Satellite System (BDS), which will serve countries along the ambitious Belt and Road Initiative by the end of this year.

3月30日，中国成功一箭两星，将两枚北斗导航卫星送入轨道。

到今年底，北斗将为中国一带一路沿线国家提供导航服务。

Named after the Chinese term for Big Dipper, the BeiDou system started providing independent services over China in 2000. It is being projected by Beijing as a rival to the American Global Positioning System (GPS).

从2000年开始，中国北斗系统就开始在国内提供独立的导航服务。北京将北斗定位为未来与美国GPS竞争的系统

Every India space launch is a great fanfare for jubilant Indians, all hailing their modi, while China, Russia and the US all consider them routine matters and hardly mentioned them. Indians still buy and rely on the US GPS, China has been using its own navigation systems for years, even China taxi no longer use GPS. Indians bragged for years but so far nothing: its regional nav system is not working because its ''imported'' on board atomic clocks have failed.

印度每次成功发射卫星，印度人就欢呼雀跃，大张旗鼓地庆祝，每个人都高呼莫迪万岁。

而中国、俄罗斯和美国将这些视为日常，鲜有提及。

印度人仍然依靠美国GPS提供导航服务，而中国几年前就开始使用国产导航系统了。

就连中国的出租车也开始不再使用GPS。

印度人吹嘘了好多年，至今无任何进展。
