BEIJING: In spite of the government's drive to discourage consumption of wildlife and pets for meat due to health reasons, the controversial dog meat festival has kicked off in Yulin city of Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region in mainland China.

尽管政府出于健康原因劝阻人们不要食用野生动物，然而备受争议的狗肉节还是在广西玉林市拉开帷幕了
