童车未停稳祖孙三代从电梯摔了下来，英国网民又吐槽中国电梯

Three members of the same family accidentally fell on an escalator in an underground station in east China on Sunday.

CCTV footage shows a woman carrying her daughter in a stroller to an upward escalator, following her mother at the front.

The woman failed to secure the stroller on the moving stairs and fell down shortly. Her elderly mother quickly ran down, however, she lost balance and tumbled down along.

Nanjing police acquired surveillance camera footage of the incident and confirmed that it happened at Sanshan station on line no. 1 of Nanjing underground station on October 29.

The woman, surnamed Zhang, can be seen leaning her back on the handrail while trying to secure her daughter’s stroller on the escalator.

Seconds later, she lost her balance and fell backwards. Her young daughter also fell out of the stroller.

Zhang’s mother, who had a walking stick with her, attempted to rush down and help, but she tripped and tumbled down the escalator.

Footage showed that there were no other onlookers around when the incident happened.

When we lived in China in the early 80¿s we would often go with our kids to the main railway station. Invariably when a train would come in from some boobieville the passengers would all rush to get down to the ground floor to be first on the busses. Many of the passengers would never have seen an escalator before and would stumble getting off or fall down trying to get off at the bottom it looked bowling ball people. The station would always have a staff member standing next to the stop buttons for when the expected pile up occurred. Then it would take ten minutes to untangle the mess, haul away the injured and pick up all the debris. That was more than 30 years ago you think they would have figured it out by now. Our kids still laugh about seeing those regular disasters since it was every time we took a train.
