BEIJING: Scientists have unearthed five ancient dinosaur egg fossils in China dating back to 70 million years.

The round-shaped eggs belonged to plant-eating phytophagous dinosaurs in the late Cretaceous period, researchers said.

The shells, discovered near Foshan in the southeast part China, were found at a depth of about eight metres, preserved in red sandstone, researchers said.

科学家在中国发现5颗可以追溯到7000万年前的古代恐龙蛋化石。

研究人员表示，圆形的恐龙蛋属于晚白垩纪时期以植物为食恐龙所下的蛋

恐龙蛋是在中国南方佛山附近发现的，被发现在大约8米深处，保存在红色沙岩中。
