Instead of worrying about Bangladesh, we must worry about the debt trap laid by the Japanese for their bullet train project. How will the railways repay Rs. 115,000 crore which they plan to borrow for the bullet train project? Even if the rate of interest is negligible, still the principal has to be paid. The loan is in Yen so money had to be paid back in yen (you do not get any benefit of inflation)

India needs such high tech railways so that India could gradually build her own ecosystem and ultimately upgrade huge network of railways in India. You're as naive as debt trapped Srilankan govt. The interest rates on the Japanese investments are as low as 1%. Had Japan had any intentions to strong arm neighbours or other countries, it would not have fallen in its economic growth since late 80s, nor would it have let china become a bigger economy.

Either nations going the chinese way are ruled by low iq leaders or they have no intention of repaying loans. Clearly, the main objective of china is to use loan leverage to have army bases in all these asian nations with the final goal of converting these into satellites of china. The only nation resisting china in this is india.
