GUWAHATI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday inaugurated the country's longest river bridge Dhola-Sadiya, which is being seen as bolstering India's defence preparedness against China.

莫迪总理周五为该国最长的大桥多拉至萨迪亚大桥揭幕，这座大桥被视为印度对中国的防御准备。

The 9.15-km long bridge, which connects the easternmost corner of Assam and Arunachal Pradesh will assist security agencies in wiping out hideouts of Northeastern insurgents such as anti-talk faction of ULFA and Khaplang faction of National Socialist Council of Nagaland (NSCN).

全长9.15公里的大桥，连接了阿萨姆邦和“阿邦”的最东部角落，将有助于安全机构消灭东北叛乱分子的藏身之处。

A senior police officer told ET, "Often militants after carrying out strikes in Assam move to safe hideouts in Arunachal Pradesh. All these years, the militants took advantage of the communication bottleneck and took refuge in Arunachal. From there they move to Myanmar."

Hyped up no doubt-- all optics, like the C-130 landing at Daulat Beg Oldi in UPA2 times! As if all this is going to scare the Chinese. On the other hand, infrastructure creation is always welcome and India too can seriously damage Chinese infrastructure in Tibet-- two can play the game.

we need 50 more bridges in there on the river and every 30-50 km. Then only Chinese shall get worried. One bridge bulls**t, they can easily target that. What we should right now do is transport Agni4 and Agni5 in canesterised model to arunachal ASAP using this very bridge. That would be great.

India's Infrastructure is extremely poor. Bridge is good baby step in the right direction. The article is heading is very childish and reveals igonrance of the author. China is far ahead and one brifge can easily be destroyed in war time. India has long way to go and should stop this childish game claiming mine is bigger or longer than yours. With oil prices staying low for a while, India gets a window of opportunity to fix its house in order. Learn from chinese and build the nation to increase productivity and efficiency first. India is not in a position to confront china in any field.
