India said on Thursday a “UAV on a regular training mission” lostcontrol and crossed the LAC in Sikkim, hours after China expressed “strongdissatisfaction”over an Indian drone crashing in its territory.

周四（12月7日），中方对印方无人机坠毁在中国境内表达“强烈不满”后几个小时，印度称，“一架正在进行常规训练的无人机”失去控制，越过锡金段的实际控制线。

China said the drone crashed in “recent days” but did not give alocation.

中国称无人机“近日”坠毁在中国境内，但是没有给出具体地点。

Reacting to a Xinhua news article on the incident, the Indiandefence ministry said: “An Indian UAV which was on a regular training missioninside the Indian territory lost contact with the ground control due to sometechnical problem and crossed over the LAC in the Sikkim Sector. As perstandard protocol, the Indian border security personnel immediately alertedtheir Chinese counterparts to locate the UAV.”

针对新华社对此次事件的报道，印度国防部回应称：“一架印度无人机在印度境内进行常规训练时，因出现技术问题失去了与地面控制的联系，并跨越了锡金段的实际控制线。按照双方的标准协议，印度边境安全人员立即通知中国的边防同行定位无人机”

The incident comes about two months after the two governmentsresolved a 70-odd day standoff between border troops near the Sikkim boundary.

On Thursday, China said the entry of the drone violated itsterritorial sovereignty. “China’s border defence forces took a professional andresponsible attitude in conducting an inspection of the device,” said ZhangShuili, a senior military official in China’s western battle zone command.

The Indian defence ministry said later: “…the Chinese side revertedwith the location details of the UAV. The exact cause of the incident is underinvestigation. The matter is being dealt with in accordance with theestablished protocols through institutional mechanisms to deal with situationsalong the India-China border areas.”

Incidents involving drones have erupted before between India, Chinaand Pakistan in the last few years.

In 2015, Pakistan armed forces shot down a drone near the Line ofControl with India, which later turned out to have been manufactured in China.

The drone was “recognised in Beijing as the Chinese-made DJI phantom3”, the state media had then reported.
