BEIJING: Two out of every three policemen in China who died in line of duty did not go down fighting criminals, instead they succumbed to overwork, according to the country's ministry of public security.

北京消息：据中国公安部的数据，中国每三名因公牺牲的警察，其中就有两名是因为过度劳累，而牺牲在打击犯罪分子的最前线的警察只占到三分之一。

What is more shocking is that the average age of all policemen who died at work last year was 43.5 years, half the average lifespan in China, the ministry said.

更令人震惊的是，公安部表示去年因公牺牲的警察平均年龄只有43.5岁，是中国平均寿命的一半。

In 2017, 361 Chinese public security personnel died on duty. Out of them, 246 passed away due to overwork, it said.

2017年共有361名警察因公牺牲。其中246人因工作强度过大而牺牲。

The ministry admitted that overwork was an issue of major concern because frontline policemen work 13 to 15 hours a day, according to its own research. As a welfare measure, the Chinese ministry said it has increased pensions to families of policemen and upgraded their insurance packages. It also highlighted the importance of using more scientific and technological tools to lower the workload of officers.

公安部承认工作过度过大是警察过劳牺牲的主要原因，据调查，一线民警每天要工作13到15个小时。中国公安部表示，作为福利政策，政府已增加了牺牲民警家庭的抚恤金，并提高了民警的保险。公安部还强调，之后将使用更多科学和技术工具，降低警察的工作负荷。

18 hours here are average working span in India. constabulary police personal is dead in India in early of his life because he doesn't get leave in need, torture of senior officials in the name of discipline. there no human rights for them.

I have yet to see an efficient policeman in India. They look very lazy and if they are working 18 hours a day it does not show. I think the IPS service has failed India in that they have not modernized like western countries and the police people are very underdeveloped in basic skills and policing.
