BEIJING: China has eradicated 70 per cent of poverty and the country's per-capita GDP has grown to $8000 due to three decades of economic development according to a white paper issued here on Thursday.

Since it is a democracy development can never take place or lets say it would at a slow pace because for every new law or bill introduced there would be opposition. I am not talking about any specific party. Naturally the party not in power would oppose the ruling party''s decisions. But China for example a communist country and only one party is the complete opposite. There if any decision is taken there is no opposition. The major drawback of a democratic multiple party government has always been this. There are other factors as well like China is extremely strict on implementation of law and to prevent corruption.

For Chinese nation comes first they dont compromise with that aspect. Religion human rights etc etc comes second. That may be tougher rule but majority gets benefited. But in India because of appeasement politics religion based laws cast based reservation no one has really benefited. Indian democracy has developed to keep every one in same place where they were. If few people progressed laws are amended such that more backward people replace them. Until tough laws are allowed to rule we may not beat China.
