BEIJING/SEOUL: Chinese President Xi called for all sides to exercise restraint on Monday in a call about North Korea with U.S. President Donald Trump, as Japan conducted joint drills with a U.S. aircraft carrier strike group headed for Korean waters.

随着日本与驶往朝鲜水域的一艘美国航母举行联合军演，中国主席呼吁各方克制。

The carrier group was sent by Trump for exercises in waters off the Korean peninsula as a warning, amid growing fears North Korea could conduct another nuclear test soon in defiance of United Nations sanctions.

航母是特朗普派出前往朝鲜半岛外海演习的，这是朝鲜对抗联合国制裁而举行另一次核试验之际美国对朝鲜的一个警告。
