'Road construction by Beijing in Doklam will be a long-term trend,' says Chinese media

中国媒体：中方洞朗的道路建设将是长期动向

NEW DELHI: A Chinese Communist Party run publication said today that Beijing will continue to build roads and other infrastructure in Doklam, the site of a recent face-off with India.

新德里：一份出版物今日称，中方会继续在洞朗修建道路和其他建筑，即与印度对峙的地点。

The op-ed in China's Global Times was referring to reports late last week that China's People's Liberation Army has started constructing a road in the Chumbi valley, about 10km from the site of the recent India-China face-off.

中国《环球时报》的一份专栏文章上周报道，中国解放军开始在春比溪谷建设一条大路，大约在距离中印对峙地点十公里外的地方。

The op-ed further said that any Indian reaction to such construction is "eccentric" and that Indian society is "paranoid" as well as "sensitive and arrogant".

文章称，印度人对这一建设的反应“古怪”，印度社会“偏执”，“敏感又自大。”

"Doklam is Chinese territory and under effective control and supervision of the Chinese government. During the Doklam face-off , Beijing intensified efforts to develop infrastructure in the region and road construction there will be a long-term trend," said the Global Times op-ed

环球时报文章称，“洞朗是中国的领土，处于中国政府有效的控制和监督下。在洞朗对峙期间，中方加大了对该地区基础建设和道路修建的力度，这将是一个长期动向。”
