TOKYO——A member of popular Japanese boy band Tokio has been accused of forcibly kissing a high school girl at his apartment local media said Wednesday.

东京——据当地媒体报道，4月25日，日本人气男团Tokio成员山口达也被指控在自家公寓里强吻女高中生。

Tatsuya Yamaguchi's agents have acknowledged the incident and apologized. Police have referred the incident to prosecutors local media said.

Yamaguchi 46 is accused of asking the high school girl whose age has not been revealed to come to his apartment in Tokyo in February and forcibly kissing her public broadcaster NHK said.

In a statement his agents apologized and said he had been drinking at the time.

"We're really sorry that he drank alcohol and kissed the victim without thinking about how she felt" the powerful Johnny & Associates agency said.

The agency represents several hugely popular Japanese acts including SMAP a boy band that split up in 2016. Its bands attract adoring crowds in Japan and also elsewhere in the region including Taiwan and Hong Kong.

Fans expressed their shock on Twitter.

The agency and the teen have already reached an unspecified agreement and she has withdrawn a complaint but prosecutors will still investigate NHK said.

Tokio regularly appear on television and have a new album scheduled for release next month.

This article omits the important details that there were TWO girls not one visiting his apartment together after meeting him in the course of recording a TV program. I’m not sure if he was trying to kiss just one or both but they fled into the toilet from where one phoned her mother who came to pick them up.

Yubaru I usually agree with your opinions but I must say I am a little saddened by this news. Of all the "Johnny's" performers out there I thought Tokio were the most down-to-earth hard working members. I have enjoyed their TV program Testuwan Dash and some of the other programs they were involved in.

No sympathy for the girl. Sounds like entrapment. She willingly went to his apartment watched him drink and then allowed herself to be kissed.
