There has been an outcry across China aftera sex education textbook was accused of branding premarital sex as cheap.

一本性教科书被指将婚前性行为称为是廉价的，这在中国激起了人们的愤怒。

Many people say it highlights genderinequality in the country, reports the People's Daily Online.  

人民网报道，很多人认为它突出了这个国家的性别不平等。

The 21st Century Publishing Group whocreated the book, which is used by pupils aged between 15 and 18, say that thebook is not insulting to women.

这本书的出版社21世纪出版集团称本书无意侵犯女性。该书适用于15到18岁的学生。



The book is titled 'Scientific SexEducation for Senior High Student'.

这本书叫做《高中生科学性教育》。

In one of the chapters, it tells itsreaders that 'premarital sex has a psychological and physical impact on girls.'

其中一章中写道“婚前性行为会对女生产生身体和心理上的影响。”

It goes on to say: 'Girls do not increasethe love they receive from boys by handing over their bodies but are seen asdegraded by their conquerors.'

还说：“女生不会因为献身而从男方那里获得更多的爱，只会让其征服者觉得很下贱。”

The book then continues: 'As a result,sexual relations can cause women to lose love.'

还说：“最终，性关系会让女性失去爱。”



According to state-run GlobalTimes, a total of 2,000 copies of the books have been sent out to schoolsin Jiangxi province over the past 12 years.

环球时报报道，过去12年间已经有2000多本分发到了江西省的学校里去。

People have shared their outrage on China'ssocial media site Weibo.

人们在微博上表达了自己的愤怒。

One user commented: 'Terrible. What is this book? It's called old-fashioned ethics course right?'

一名网友说道：”这叫什么书啊？应该叫过时的道德课是吗？

While another said: 'Sex is between two people. Why is only one person degraded?'

还有人说：“性是两个人的事，为什么只有其中一方是堕落的？”



And one user said: 'These books are the values of grandparents. I do not know why we still have them.'

还有人说：“这书中表现的是祖父母的价值观。我不明白为什么还要保留这样的价值观。”

Even teachers have shared their outrage atthe book.

甚至老师们都发表了自己的愤怒之情。

Global Times says that one person claimingto be a teacher, wrote on Weibo under the name Xiao Chuwu: 'Sex education issupposed to protect teenagers, not intimidate or insult them'.

环球时报报道说其中一名自称老师的人在微博上写道：“性教育应该保护青少年，而不是恐吓和侮辱他们”。

Sex education in China is typically taughtby informing students of the basic anatomical difference between the sexes andnothing else.

中国的性教育一般只涉及男女之间基本的解刨学区别，别无其他。
