Right on. The "new" and "open" China was always nothing more than a means to gain more power and an unprecedented military build-up for its revanchist expansionism.

The prison bit. The USA incarcerates more people than China. Admittedly this could be because the Chinese government are busy shooting their prisoners and harvesting the organs which keeps their numbers down a bit.

Is he wrong though? Clearly it's a bad way to manage diplomacy but the Chinese govt is a brutal oppressor and it is creating an environmental catastrophe. And we have allowed Globalisation and it's corporate cheerleaders to hand western prosperity to China lock stock and barrel.

The "biggest police state " is the US. No-one incarcerates its citizens at the rate the US does. How many countries has China invaded and carpet bombed? The list for the US includes but is not limited to Iran Iraq Vietnam Syria Cambodia Laos Guatemala Panama El Salvador Afghanistan Kuwait Yugoslavia Grenada and the list goes on. The death toll runs to tens of millions. Vietnam alone ran to a couple of million. It is an appalling record. It was all done to profit the neo-capitalists of the US - done for money and nothing else.

You'll get absolutely no sense whatsoever from his politically naive supporters I'm afraid. This will be the first time many of them have bothered to get off their arses and vote and it certainly shows if the nonsensical drivel from them on here is anything to go by. The fact that the world is increasingly interconnected is lost on them as they seem to think that they can simply roll back globalisation. Trump neglected to tell them that that ship has already sailed; it's inevitable relentless and irreversible.

Peter Navarro is right and so are Trump's comments so far.. China is a horrible country bully of the East. Look at it's policy to Tiawan Tibet Hong Kong and the South China Sea. It is a shame that Tory politicians are happily licking the boots of Chinese leaders desperate for a trade deal especially after the stupidity of Brexit.
