“You behave more quietly and calmly. Be more gentle” Toshihiro Nikai the No. 2 man of Abe’s ruling Liberal Democratic Party said during the recording of a TV program Friday for later broadcast referring Trump’s way of blaming countries such as Japan for U.S. trade deficits.

The LDP secretary general expressed displeasure at Trump over his call for Japan to pay more for U.S. military forces stationed in Japan saying “Is it suitable for the president of a superpower to rant something in a unilateral and hysterical manner?”

Nikai is a veteran lawmaker who has held a number of key posts such as trade minister and head of the LDP General Council the party’s top decision-making body.

Here that Trump be gentle. That's Japanese for knock off the BS blockhead.

Little do these politicians realize that Trump is not going to take lightly these types of comments being directed towards him.
Few in the world are prepared to deal with Trump as he is far from delicate.

Be careful of what you say .... it might fire back at you in an instant!

Few in the world are prepared to deal with Trump as he is far from delicate.
Trump aka the soulless man-child is incredibly delicate a fact demonstrated by every tweet he makes. He is nothing more than a shallow thin-skinned bully who needs to be shamed at the global level. His profound ignorance and his lack of basic human decency make him a danger to the US its allies and the global system as a whole.

trump's role model is boris yeltsin who made slurred speeches while drunk and showed up on tv in underpants... RIP.

Ha ha the first ( and probably only ever) time I've agreed with something someone in the LDP has said.

commanteerJAN. 14 2017 - 05:15PM JST
"Let's see how do we deal with this unpredictable Trump guy? I know let's publicly call him hysterical. That will bring him around!"
This was a real boneheaded and counterproductive comment by the LDP. Maybe they should listen to their own advice and avoid escalating the war of words.

I saw your post and misread "Johnson" for "Yeltsin".
My only reaction was to think "Well I have been away from the U.K. for a while...." !!

Even though most Americans didn't vote for him he remains the biggest embarrassment who ever elected to rule. Personally I am hoping for another presidential first: PREIMPEACHMENT

Yes and "hysterical" is a polite term.

Well I guess if he had tweeted this instead of using the more traditional media he would have sounded more like Trump himself. He might be right but it might have been prudent to keep his ideas to himself. These LDP senior politicians can never seem to control their outbursts. And is it his job to defend Toyota too? I think he feels he is defending his team. But he shouldn't really be displaying that to Trump as it will arouse his suspicions.

Mr one step forward two steps back LDP secretary general Toshihiro Nikai 77 a veteran politician clearly failed to grasp or even comprehend that discretion is the better part of valour.
Wondering if Nikai san has twitter account? Only a fool states the obvious especially publicly in such patronizing condescending manner to a U.S. President-elect excepts criticism as tantamount to a declaration of war.

If you criticise Trump you get an angry late night tweet... Mr. Nikai can expect an angry hysterical tweet tonight from Trump exclaiming that he (Trump) isn't hysterical and how Japan is over-rated and the Japanese don't even know how to cook sashimi properly. Personally I'm looking forward to reading it when it comes...

Par for the course. Some American official makes unsubstantiated claims against a Japanese company and all the hard work that Toyota has done to support communities and workers in the US gets called into question.

I would call that hysterical. I would also call it destructive and irresponsible. But I repeat that it is par for the course. That is the way the US runs nowadays.

Years ago I suggested that Japan needed to build America's bullet trains like it needed a hole in the head. The US will blame the Japanese before they will blame a pot-addled conductor or faulty schedule/ switch problem. I think the Japanese manufacturers really dodged a bullet there.

Trump's behavior seems rather kinda bully childish manner than "hysterical manner". Bully child always ignore (doesn't listen to) what he doesn't like/want. Bully child always has not good debate with who he doesn't like. Bullying child makes more enemies finally. Trump is going to be President. I can imagine easily that Americans are going to have more nasty miserable hard times until he leaves his office. But he might quit President in the middle of 4 year term if he screwed up everything.
