MITO —A Japanese man has been arrested after he allegedly opened a hole in the floor of his apartment and broke into the apartment below before attempting to rape a woman he was infatuated with, police said Wednesday.

水户市——一日本男子被逮捕，据称他在自己的公寓地板上开了个洞，通过这个洞进入楼下公寓，试图强奸他所迷恋的一名妇女，警方周三称。

Police in Tsukuba, Ibaraki Prefecture, northeast of Tokyo, said Masahito Sato, 51, a Tsukuba company employee, was arrested on charges of unlawful entry and indecent assault resulting in injury when he attacked his 39-year-old victim.

警方称这名51岁男子以非法进入和强暴猥亵罪名被捕，导致这名39岁的妇女受伤。

According to police, Sato was a frequent customer of a restaurant the woman operated. He told police, “I have romantic feelings (for her).”

Sato moved into the apartment directly above the woman’s first-floor residence in mid-October. In a case of apparent fatal attraction, it is unclear how Sato knew where the woman lived or that the room above her had been vacant. Using a saw and other implements, he spent about 10 days making a 50-centimeter-diameter hole in the floor of his apartment, police said.

Police suspect that around 12:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Sato descended through the hole and removed a panel in the ceiling of the woman’s bathroom before climbing down into her apartment.

The suspect fled from the entranceway when the woman resisted. Police who were called to the scene discovered Sato in a nearby convenience store about five hours later.

Sato allegedly pressed a stun gun against her and knocked her to the floor before trying to rape her. He is suspected of causing the women injuries, including abrasions to her left hand.
I sincerely hope that she was not raped, the trauma of being invaded in her home has to be overwhelming to say the least and I also hope that she get the counselling and help she needs to try to get over this invasion.

Go pay for a prostitute if your so desperate. Forcing yourself on a woman is incredibly selfish. To think you can is incredibly stupid. Pay a whore and no imposition on either party. They accept weirdo's. Better yet work on your people skills and try and court the woman.

It's of kind of freaky but in some mansions, the same floors have access to all other apartments. I noticed when the washing machine people came. They just picked up this door thing that we use for storing stuff and underneath it is the basement, which is connected to all apartments... Huge security floor!
