It is, of course, the world's largest andmost-populous continent.

So deciding which parts of Asia to see canbe a difficult quest for today's international traveller.

Fortunately, the experts at Lonely Planethave whittled-down the options for us with their 2017 Best in Asia list – anagenda-setting collection of the area’s 10 best destinations to visit in theyear ahead.

Released this week, they've named Gansu innorth-central China as the ultimate destination point, in part because it's'blissfully well-connected' yet 'underrated and relatively crowd-free'.
The urban scene South of Tokyo, Japan, issecond place while Northern Kerala, India, comes in at number three.

'Asia is such a vast and diverse continentfor anyone dreaming of an escape,' Lonely Planet’s Asia-Pacific MediaSpokesperson, Chris Zeiher, says. 'Our experts have combed through thousands ofrecommendations to pick the best destinations to visit over the next 12months.'

Unless you are just passing through on yourway to Singapore or KL, Melaka is an arm pit. I've been traveling from JakartaIndonesia to the Great Wall just North of Beijing for almost 30 years now andthat is one of the last cities I would ever recommend visiting.

I have been to Gansu. I have to tell youthat because it's quite high up, Gansu is really really cold in the winter andearly spring and given that the economy there is mostly mining, extremelyheavily polluted by the waste products left from that. Also, because it is socold for much of the year, they burn huge amounts of coal to stay warm, so theair quality is rotten.

我去过甘肃，我跟你讲因为甘肃地势很高，在冬天和早春的时候非常冷，因为当地的经济主要是煤炭业，污染十分严重。而且因为一年当中大部分时间都很冷，冬天要烧很多煤，空气质量很差。

Regarding #7 Xi'an, they mention that youcan avail yourself of a 72-hour visa free visit. Well, yes, you can, but youcan't fly into China and back home three days later. You must be in transit toa third country destination, i.e your destination must be different than yourorigin. So you can't do this on UK-China and China-UK flights. Also, you maynot leave the Xi'an administrative region, which means that the city and theTerracotta Army are about all you may see (they won't let you purchase a trainticket from the station without a Chinese visa in your passport)

说到排第七的西安，文章提到你可以利用72小时免签去旅游。但是，你不可能在3天时间内乘飞机从中国入境到离境回家。你必须要在第三国转机。你的目的地和你的始发地一定不一样，你不可能完成英国-中国，中国-英国的航程。而且，你也不能离开西安的管辖区，也即是说你只能看的只有西安市和兵马俑（你护照里没有中国签证是不可能让你买火车票的）。
