TheKremlin has admitted that Russian television accidentally showed secret plansfor a nuclear torpedo system on air.

克里姆林宫已经承认说俄罗斯电视台意外播放了一个核鱼雷系统的计划。

TwoKremlin-controlled channels, NTV and Channel One, showed a military officiallooking at a confidential document containing drawings and details of a weaponssystem called Status-6, designed by Rubin, a nuclear submarine constructioncompany based in St Petersburg.

Thenuclear torpedoes, to be fired by submarines, would create “zones of extensiveradioactive contamination making them unsuitable for military or economicactivity for a long period”, says the document, which is clearly visible in thefootage for several seconds.

I am notto sure what everybody is losing their mind over, nuclear tipped torpedoes havebeen a fact of life since before the Cuban missile crisis.
What isso different about this system?
Extremerange perhaps to target carrier groups?
Their ismention of radiation effects, has this been especially amplified in thisdevice?
Why isthis worse than a standard ICBM, or nuclear tipped cruise missile?
I do notlike to criticize but this article is big on scare factor, and painfully thinon information.

这套系统有啥不一样的？
拥有超长的航程从而可以用来攻击航母战斗群？
文章提到了辐射效果，这种辐射效果在这种武器中得到了放大？
难道说这种武器比洲际导弹导弹或者说核巡航导弹还要厉害？
我不喜欢批评，但是这篇文章喜欢吓人，而提供的信息又少得可怜。

No onewants them to be used. But if the Pentagon knows that they have them, theymight have to think twice before their next Big War Adventure.

TheRussian army isn't the fearsome juggernaut it once was, and the Russian economyis in a state of collapse. However, Putin does have nukes. He also has anegotistical, sociopathic attitude. He wouldn't think twice about firing nukesif he was cornered or humiliated.
