Ivanka Trump has come under fire for saying she her US president father Donald believe American workers are the “best” in the world — despite the fact they both have goods for their businesses manufactured overseas.

In an impassioned speech, Ms Trump hailed American employees as “more innovative, more motivated, more capable” than any other “group of people”.

Mr Trump clinched the US presidential election in a shock victory on the back of his slogan to “Make America Great Again”, vowing to pull back the millions of mostly manufacturing jobs that had been lost to cheaper labour markets overseas such as Mexico and China.

Lets not forget that Eric Trump applied for 26 (I think) visa's to bring in foreign workers for the Trump Winery (I understand that the wine is bitter and least a lingering after taste), and I wonder how many minimum wage immigrant workers are employed in Trump's 'empire', more than a few I would wager.
As for First Lady Ivanka, I would doubt that she has any interest in workers at all anywhere, she will almost certainly have had the life lessons from her father of profit before anything, anything at all.

"Simplify" tax code and "level playing field" seems to be a pretty clear signal for cutting corporation tax and therefore public spending. I'd be more worried about that rather than the hypocrisy about where the shoes are made. I doubt many Americans would benefit from the low wages from the shoe making.

The consequences are, the poor guy may save a few hundred dollars a year, but his healthcare willl  cost thousands more if he or one of his dependents gets sick, he is more likely to become the victim of crime as public spending will be cut, his job is going to become        increasingly threatened as nothing has been done to address the core issue, of corporations seeking out the cheapest possible labour in countries without modern stand             standards. The consequence for the rich guy i.e. Trump is he saves hundreds of millions or more in tax and suffers none of the downside as his profits come from exploiting a     foreign workforce; so he gets to stockpile huge sums of cash that rightly belong in the public spending budget. It's not rocket science!
