It would be preferable if Chinese bought into these cities rather than buy houses and condominiums in the San Francisco Bay Area. The properties they purchase either remain empty, or they refuse to interact with their neighbors. The result are buildings and streets where people do not interact with one another. It may be a cultural behaviour, but it creates eerie unfriendly places.

THIS is only one of hundreds of ghost cities west, south, and north of Beijing. If you look at Google Earth -- you will see them -- cities. Zero in and look close up at them... and you will see they are vacant -- scattered cities in areas you would not expect. And for what?? They have highways, hospitals, apartments (of various colors)... but no people.
