Lined up with military precision, hundreds of employees wait to make iPhones at one of the most secretive factories in the Apple production line.

Dressed in pink jackets, blue hairnets and plastic slippers, the workers have their ID badges scanned on an iPad by a supervisor at morning roll call.

Do you know what's funny about the 'greedy' comments over the bosses wanting more money? You all can't live within your means either and given the chance you'd most likely behave as the super rich too. The reason companies go overseas is because of the lack of responsibility of workers who want more and more pay to fund their consumerist lifestyles! We wanted unions, more pay, more breaks, holidays or time off on the employers watch, oh&s, x-mas parties, travel pay and the list goes on. Now you're surprised factories vanished? Factories require workers and upkeep, once that's expensive to run you have to look elsewhere. Workers in the western world are entitled and lazy. It's all about appearances now not surviving! This creates debt because too many people borrow cash they don't have- welcome to an enslaved world on all fronts! At least these people work to put food on their table, the rest of us work to pay off debts for things we couldn't afford but had to have NOW!

Am always intrigued by these spin articles. I have been in many Chinese factories and the conditions and alleged pay are nothing what is being stated here. Wonder if this journalist has actually been there or how many with the negative comments have either. What I do see though is a complete cultural misunderstanding. And I am a westerner.

I don't think there is anything wrong with the working conditions, what's wrong is the rate of pay. Pay them more so they can work less hours, hire more people to pick up the slack, win win situation, better pay rates and less hours for the workers, higher productivity for the company, and giving someone a job.
