Going up! Chinese architects propose 180fttower is built in Times Square featuring a carousel, sky garden, and a plaza ofhammocks

An architecture firm have proposed bringinga park to Times Square but rather than going out, it would go up.

The company 100architects,who are based in Shanghai, China, call the concept Vertical Times, a 180-foottower with different levels and functions.

Included in the six-cylinder tower would bea carousel playground, a ball pit for children, a sky garden, and a plaza ofhammocks.

In order to be sustainable, 100architects also propose that the top two tiersbe used as a restaurant and bar - areas that would then fund the publicsections of the tower.

A central steel column acts as a verticalcore, providing access to all levels.

According their website, the firm believe that that park 'multiples theintended space for public recreation in a vertical way - minimising the impactat ground level.'

Javier Gonzalez, a design partner at100architects, said the idea for the tower was conceived in December 2014, whenhis partner Marcial Jesus visited New York.

The part they don't show you is the milelong line at the bottom, making it even more crowded with tourists. Pass!

A ball pool? Have they never read aboutwhat is found in those? Needles, dirty diapers, feces and vomit to name just afew. Who would allow their kids to play in one? And hammocks? The new challengewould be getting away with Times Square sex! Just too weird!

This would be a great homeless magnet.Imagine every public space filled with homeless and their shopping carts.

That's one way to ruin a city's open space.Even though it won't happen it could also obscure the views for people oneither ends of the square. Advertisers won't be too happy...

Well, that can't be safe! See all of thedrawings of the people in there? In reality, there would be about 100 times asmany people all shuffling around for the best spot to take a photo. No thanks!

No. We don't need anymore attractions toattract unruly China tourists.
