Two men who terrorised residents inJiangsu, east China, by killing and abducting their pet dogs have finally beenapprehended.

在江苏杀害和掳走宠物狗的两名男子终于被警方逮捕。

The suspects, who have not been named, usedcrossbows and transquilisers to subdue and kill the animals according to People'sDaily Online.

两个嫌疑人用十字弓和镇静剂控制和杀死这些狗狗，人民网报道。

Over the course of their two-month spree,the pair killed hundreds of animals.

在这两个月的杀戮期间，两人总共杀死了几百只宠物狗。



According to reports, the pair have been onthe road since March this year, travelling from Changzhou to Danyang on amotorbike.

据报道，自今年三月份以来两人就一直在路上，一路上骑摩托车从常州来到了丹阳。

On May 12, after successfully killingseveral animals in Danyang, one of the two men was captured by the police.

The other man remains at large.

The suspect, who is currently beingdetained, admitted to killing hundreds of dogs according to People's Daily.

被捕的嫌疑人承认说杀死了几百只狗狗。



It is thought the two men also kidnappedsome of the dogs.

据认为两名男子还绑架了一些狗狗。

These crimes were often carried out inbroad daylight.

It's not clear what the men were doing withthe dead animals as the case is still under investigation by the local police.

Obviously some people in Mainland China aretrying to buck the norm and keep companion animals but are not being allowedto. I've seen the effort by a handful of Chinese to stop the dog-eatingfestivals, there are some good people operating as covertly as the FrenchResistance fighters, but I wish their numbers were higher. Everything they doto rescue these poor little guys is out of pocket, they get no help from theirgovernment.
