While the thought of walking on a see-through bridge at nearly 1,000 feet high gives you jelly legs, its ambitious operator is proposing an even more extreme plan.

The much-anticipated glass-bottomed structure, soon to be open over a 300-metre-high valley (984 feet) in China, is expected to be equipped with a bungee platform and a giant swing.

Both facilities are due to be added to the transparent structure after its grand opening, according to a spokesman from Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon, the bridge's operating company.

The bungee platform, which will be attached to the bridge, is expected to be 260 metres high (853 feet), said the spokesman.

If the plan materialises, the platform will be 23 metres (75 feet) higher than that of the Macau Tower, the highest commercial jumping spot in the world.

The swing is planned to be nearly 170 metres (558 feet) long and is due to be suspended from the bridge towards the valley.

Both the bungee jump and the swing will be open to the public next year, according to the company.

Apparently, there are even more in the pipeline from the management of Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon, one of the most popular scenic spots in China.

The company's spokesman told MailOnline: 'The bridge is not only a bridge, it's a combination of nature, adventure and technology.'

He said the bridge's surrounding area would be turned into the largest extreme sports base in China in the next few years.

Designed by Israeli architect Haim Dotan, the Zhangjiajie dramatic bridge has cost approximately one and a half year to complete with the total cost of approximately 26 million Yuan (￡2.6 million).
