A group of children in China are facing dangerous journeys between their homes and school because their village is so cut off from the outside world.
Heart-breaking pictures have emerged showing these pupils the youngest of whom are aged just six must climb unsecured vine ladders on the side of a steep rock face to go home from school.

In China where recently there have been articles regarding glass elevators glass bridges and viewing platforms etc - all of which cost huge amounts of money. But they won't give any money towards providing a safe way for these children to get an education. Staying away from their parents for two weeks at a time must be hard too. The best solution would be to have a teacher stay at the village.

It would be too costly?? And the lives lost? Wow However I love how these kids do what they have to do to get to school. While it is a death and life situation the parents still seem their kids to school while American parents are suing schools because Bobby isn't allowed to wear a dress to the prom and Karen can't wear green hair against the schools guidelines.

It would be nice if we could bring these tough and brave children over here to show the iPhone zombie children how to grow a set. Perhaps pay for their education while others get to see the other side of life.

It would seem more sensible to have a teacher or two make the trip to the village and reside there to teach the children and spare the children the dangerous hike.

My childhood self would have loved climbing/ descending that ladder it's a shame we now live in a time of health and safety madness. I'm sure the kids are perfectly safe but maybe they could introduce a pulley system to transport their school bags just so they don't have to carry them whilst on the ladder. Great pictures.

My mate's kid goes to school in Tower Hamlets....i think the short walk there is afr more dangerous than this.
