今年一名小男孩被卷进一自动扶梯的栏杆下而死亡。

The horrificincident took place at a metro station in Chongqing, south west China,reported People's Daily Online.

人民日报网站报道，这个恐怖的事件发生在重庆市的一个地铁站里。

At present, it'snot clear how the accident occurred.

目前，还不清楚这个事件是如何发生的。



The incidenttook place in the crowded Hong Chi He Gou station at around 11am local time.

当地时间早上11点，这个事件发生在拥挤的地铁站里。

Somehow, a boywas swept under the handrail of the escalator and became trapped. It is thoughthe had suffocated.

不知何故，这男孩就被卷进了自动扶梯的栏杆下，并卡在那里。据认为他已经窒息了。



Although stationstaff acted quickly, they were unable to save the boy in time.

尽管车站工作人员快速反应，他们还是没能及时将他救醒。

Witnesses saidthat a woman, believed to be the boy's mother, held his hand for a minute or sobefore he died.
