It may be the poster animal for endangeredspecies awareness, but it appears the giant panda has bounced back.

大熊猫或许可以成为一种海报动物以提醒人们对濒危物种的关注，但是大熊猫现在貌似已经成功逆袭。

The black and white bear, a symbol ofChina, has finally been shifted off the endangered species list after years ofintensive conservation efforts.  

这种作为中国象征之一的黑白熊在经过多年的集中保护后终于脱离了濒危物种名单。

The International Union for Conservation ofNature (IUCN) said in a report released on Sunday that the animal is nowclassified as a 'vulnerable' instead of 'endangered' species, reflecting itsgrowing numbers in the wild in southern China.

国际自然保护联盟在周日发布的报告中称大熊猫现在被归类为“易危”而不是“濒危”，因为中国南方的野生大熊猫数量在不断增加。



It said the wild panda population jumped to1,864 in 2014 from 1,596 in 2004, the result of work by Chinese agencies toenforce poaching bans and expand forest reserves.

报告称大熊猫数量从2004年的1596只增加到2014年的1864只，这是中国相关机构通过强化非法狩猎禁令和扩大森林保护区的成果。

The IUCN report warned that although betterforest protection has helped increase panda numbers, climate change ispredicted to eliminate more than 35 per cent of its natural bamboo habitat inthe next 80 years, potentially leading to another decline.

该报告还警告称尽管森林保护措施帮助增加了熊猫数量，但是未来80年气候变化预计将会毁灭超过35%的天然竹子产地，从而可能导致熊猫数量的再次下降。

The giant pander has the reproductive poweras a dead dodo, it eats a nutrition poor diet and lives in an environment thatcannot be sustained. It is heading for extinction or to a life in a zoo, andnot even all the labs in China and zoos in other countries can save it fromextinction.
