The dinner table was once considered the cornerstone of a family home the place where everyone could get together at least once a day to spend time with each other.

But new research has revealed that UK families are more likely to use the dinner table for arguing making bombshell announcements and sex than for eating food.

We love sitting around the dinner table with the TV off. I love setting out the table with individual and unique plates cutlery and glassware and my partner loves cooking which her serves up in dishes not plated up like in a cafe or one of those common carvery's.

Not in my daughter's household they don't. She her husband and 4 young children ALWAYS sit together at the table to eat their meals. She also always cooks from scratch and makes up her own delicious recipes. The parents both work too.
