A set of stunning photos have revealed the hidden beauty of a Taoism temple sitting on the peak of Tayun Mountain in north-west China. 

一组惊人的照片显露出了中国一道观所不为人知的美，立于中国西北部的塔云山颠。



Tayun Mountain, located in Chaiping town, is one of the most famous peaks associated with Taoism. 

塔云山位于紫坪镇，是中国最着名的道教名山之一。



The series of photos taken by 'Da Qin Farmer' in September show the isolated temple with a golden top situated on top of the mountain. The temple worships Guanyin, the Goddess of Mercy in Taoism.

从九月份拍摄的这组照片中，我们可以看到一座装饰有金顶的道观坐落在山巅之上。这个道观里供奉的是道教的观音菩萨。



Stunning images show the isolated location of the temple which stands on top of the 5,460ft peak.  

这个与世隔绝的道观坐落在5460英尺的山巅之上。



'Ta', the Chinese word for pagoda, and 'yun' which means clouds, is used to name the mountain with its peak similar to the shape of building.

这座山之所以被命名为塔云山，是因为山巅看起来像塔的形状。



The tiny temple with an area of less than six square metres (64.5 square feet) has its four stone pillars rooted in the mountain's rocks. 

这座小道观不足6平方米，四根石柱立在了山岩上。



Stone strips have been stacked up to make up the foundation of the temple, reports the People's Daily Online.  

这个道观的地基是由石条搭成的，人民网报道。

Taoism, with a history of more than 1,800 years, is one of the mainstream traditional religion in China, according to a research by People's Daily. It places a strong emphasis on respect for nature as it advocates the worship of natural objects including mountains. 

拥有1800多年历史的道教是中国的传统主流宗教之一，人民日报调查发现。道教强调尊重自然，崇尚自然物体，包括山峰。

Currently, there are more than 1,500 Taoist temples in China.

目前中国拥有1500多座道观。
