Investors from the Far East have started to invest in British independent schools as many wealthy Chinese families continue to favour educating their children in the UK.

The purchases appear to be motivated as an safe financial investment, with many private schools welcoming the opportunity for a much needed injection of cash.

Chase Grammar School is one of the latest British private schools to be bought up by Chinese investors.

The Staffordshire based school, which charges as much as £36,000 for boarding pupils and  £11,000 a year for day pupils, was bought by a Achieve Education.

Chinese owned companies use intermediaries, often agencies, to negotiate a deal for the school sale, according to The Times.

No it's not the total number. As I said "since the year 2000". That is all of the Nobel prizes won by those countries since the year 2000, according to the wikipedia page list of them. I started counting from the year 2000 as one would think if the current education system was to get any credit then they would be recent awards. If you look into it it seems most of the awards are awarded to western men in their 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s. So older men are generally the winners of these awards. The point is the relation to the modern education system. But I think not only the education system, but also the facilities and employment opportunities that allow research and development in sciences could be what is lacking. I have said for a long time we need public enterprise in scientific research and development providing employment and opportunities for everyone to follow their calling and curiosity, to further our collective understanding in science and technologies.
