According to a report on People's Daily Online, Zhu Qinghua lives in Boyang county's Shetang village in south-east China's Jiangxi province.

据人民网报道，朱清华来自江西省鄱阳县的深塘村。



His wife was first diagnosed with kidney stones in 1993 and underwent an operation to remove the stones, said People's Daily Online, citing a report from Jiangxi News.

他的妻子1993年被诊断患有肾结石，并进行手术移除结石，人民网报道。

However his wife fell ill again three years later. Her condition became more serious and the doctors had to remove her left kidney.

然而他的妻子三年后再次生病。她的病情更加严重，医生不得不将她的左肾移除。

Zhu became the sole breadwinner of his family as his wife was too weak to do any farm work after the surgery.

朱成为了家里唯一顶梁柱，因为妻子手术后已不能干农活。



The man said his wife was diagnosed with kidney stones again in 1997; and because of the difficult position of the stones, doctors said it was hard to remove the stones through surgery or medicine.

他说妻子在1997年被再次诊断为肾结石；而由于结石所处的位置奇特，医生说很难通过手术或药物移除结石。

Zhu said that doctors had suggested his wife do handstands as an attempt to lose the stones, but his wife was too weak to do so.

他说医生建议妻子手倒立来移除结石，但是他的妻子身体太弱，根本行不通。

However on one day in 1998, Zhu suddenly thought of making a rotating bed that could turn his wife upside down to help her get rid of the kidney stones.

然而就在1998年的某一天，他突然想到可以制作一个旋转床，通过帮助妻子上下颠倒的方式来移除结石。



The machine was completed after about a month. After using it for four or five days, his wife's condition reportedly improved and she could help with the family with simple farm work again.

一个月后这个机器完成。在使用了四五天后，据报道他妻子的病情有所减轻，她的妻子又可以帮助家里干点农活了。

Zhu's wife was diagnosed with kidney stone for a third time in 2005, and Zhu decided to upgrade his invention so that the bed could rotate vertically and horizontally.

2005年他的妻子第三次被诊断为肾结石，朱决定升级自己的发明，让床可以垂直和水平旋转。

He told Jiangxi News: 'This means no matter where the stones are, they could be rid of easily.'
