Typhoons do fly from aircraft carriers but they're STOBAR (Short Take-Off but Arrested Recovery) variants so absolutely no use on a QE carrier that has not arrester facilities...

Typhoons cannot fly off of the QE Class carriers. The headline is again misleading. The F-35B STOVL jets can launch and recover off the carrier as designed. The Typhoons will fly have to fly there on their own or unceremoniously be hauled off the deck by cranes on the dock side!!

Disagree all you want Andrew but it's a fact. BAE SYSTEMS built prototypes for the Indian navy. They're not in production as such but they exist. It's unlikely they'll ever get used though as navalising them adds in excess of 500kg to the weight of the aircraft and as such plays havoc with the way it flies. Go and read up on it for yourself...

In 2020 China will have two carriers. Though they are not as advanced as the British one at least they won't break down beacause of warm water. Btw the number of the "carrier killer" DF-21 missiles will increase so I simply can't understand what's the point of wasting so much money sending a carrier to the South China sea since such behavior won't scare us Chinese at all. This will simply damage the bilateral relationship between China and Britain. Is that really so important for Britain to follow the US?
