VOLKSWAGEN has ordered its bosses to stop speaking German and start speaking the Queen's English in order to become the "best".

大众已经要求它的管理层停止说德语并开始改说女王的英语以做到“最好。”

Germany's leading international automobile company announced their official language switch yesterday, as CEO Matthias Mueller revealed his plans to clean up the company's brand and make it appear more "welcoming".

德国重要的国际性汽车公司在昨天（14号）宣布改变他们的通用语言，首席执行官Matthias Mueller透漏他计划洗刷公司的耻辱并让它显得更受“欢迎。”



Dr Karlheinz Blessing, a VW board member, said the language change will improve VW’s quality as they will have access to the "best" workers in the world.

He said: “In future, English is to be the group language. This will improve access to the top management level for international top performers and cooperation among top managers.

Last year, VW’s 79-year immaculate reputation was on the rocks, after the United States Environmental Protection Agency revealed the German company had been cheating on a series of European Union emission tests.

Amazing when Britain does NOT even  insist everyone speaks ENGLISH.
OUR politicians would rather spend BILLIONS a year on translators than insist on English being spoken.
Those translators should be the FIRST to go and the printing of everything in 49 different languages as well. Everything should be in English and Braille just like it used to be.
If anyone cannot read English then they have to find someone who can, again just like it used to be until LIEbour under BLIAR got in the act.
We will need every penny for when we leave the EU and this would be a perfect way of helping.
Do it now and then we can LEAVE a bit quicker as well..

It says in the article that we have a population of "around 53 million".   A few weeks ago, in the Daily Express, they announced that our population had just topped 65 million.   Which is it.
It also says that Volkswagen intend to make "the language switch by 2012".   So, either they need to get a trot on - or the Daily Express need to start proof-reading their articles.

53 million is the registerd figure from the 2009 census.
The rest are due to illegal immigrants at the rate of 100 a day for forty years.

More than ten years ago when I worked for a German company, all presentations and discussions at international meetings were in English. This was and still is the recognised  language of the world.
