John Pilger in The Coming War on China.
The title of John Pilger’s new film reminded me of a now-forgotten conservative tract from 1991 The Coming War With Japan by George Friedman and Meredith Lebard a hawkish work which argued that the Soviet collapse meant America should be on its guard against the resurgent old enemy from the second world war. Paradoxically Pilger’s documentary is about paranoia and pre-emptive military belligerence in the Pacific: a 21st century alt-yellow-peril. It’s a subject which tends to be ignored especially now that we are (justifiably) concerned by Putin’s Russia.

Pilger politely reminds us that Nobel peace laureate Barack Obama presided over a massive increase in nuclear spending and a new strategic obxtive the super-modern “pivot to Asia” which for the arms business is like the exploitation of a lucrative new market. It means a colossal but unacknowledged buildup of military bases under China’s nose specifically intended to smack down any thoughts China might be having about translating its commercial prosperity into power in the region and answer with an overwhelming show of strength China’s own disputed claim to the Spratly Islands in the South China Sea. Their semi-secret bases are tracked by academic David Vine in his observation project Base Nation. Pilger fills in the historical context: from turning the Marshall Islands and their peoples into vivisectional nuclear-test guinea pigs after the war the US government has turned many places into missile bases whose weapons are trained on China. (Pilger could – but doesn’t – point out how close America came to a nuclear strike on China during the Korean war.)

It’s a bizarre dysfunctional situation a buildup which shows no sign of abating certainly now that Donald Trump has encouraged America to believe China is its new enemy. This is a gripping film which though it comes close to excusingChina (“Yes there are issues with human rights …”) does point out China’s insecurities and political cruelties. A strong corrective to our bland and complacent indifference to the new war-game scenario in the Pacific.

You can't have it both ways. Brexit Has Cut U.K. Wealth By $1.5 Trillion in 2016 according to Credit Suisse. And so it will be with Trump's isolationist policies. If the rest of the world were smart they would shut out US aggression arrogance and greed. They want to be on their own let them.You want to be isolationist then China would respond by forming new relationships and bolster emerging markets within their region and shut out the US. Asia pacific have very big foreign investors in the U.S. If you invade the South China Sea (which we actually are since we have military in the region) would you allow the Chinese to station their military ships in NY harbor? That's also a "trade route." And to propagandize that the Chinese wealth was because they cheated is completely wrong. They did exactly what we would have done and the US companies went right along with it. You never hear about the US cyber attacks on the Chinese (except when Snowden reported). There are criteria established which China does not fully meet to be a currency manipulator. And even if it were occurring manipulating the yuan down does indeed make exports to America cheaper and imports into China more expensive. Which means that such manipulation makes Americans richer (they must pay less for what they want) and the Chinese poorer (they must pay more). White men won the White House Congress the Senate never had legislation against them like the Chinese Exclusion Act or the 2011 law banning Chinese from entering NASA and they whine about 5% of the population being too successful taking all the jobs in Silicon valley so said that fat rosacea-faced slob Bannon. I remember when Germany railed against its smallest population too. I remember what happened then. Alt right = Alt reality. “If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it people will eventually come to believe it." - Joseph Goebbels ("On the Big Lie"). Vincent Chin. Killed because 2 White men who were angry the Japanese were making cars. Now how many Americans did Toyota employ? When you start putting the Chinese Americans in concentration camps like the Japanese you will start losing friends everywhere. Trade war with China then cold war then WWIII. How much will Trump and his cronies make on this? Draining the swamp my ar$e. Same old rubbish. All we need is more horrible war propaganda.

Any conflict with China by America will by definition have to go nuclear in short order.
America balked at confronting Russian S-400's in Syria......the USN have zero chance of prevailing against a land based China in battle.
China has demonstrably proved it can destroy satellites and Russia has the entire map of all of them thus reducing the USN to semaphore.
China has carrier sinking ICBM's and other missiles
China has the numbers and technology to contest out to the second Pacific ring of islands.
China can destroy all of the West coast of America and probably and much of the Easy coast also.
China has over 1000 miles of secret nuclear railways and tunnels with ICBM's.
China has the numbers to survive much like Russia has the geographic spread to survive nuclear war.
Much like Syria today China is criss crossing the country with A2/D2 missiles thereby guaranteeing a retaliatory strike capability.
America has 70% of its population and infrastructure within something like 30-50 miles of each coast.
The one belt railway system is making the USN incrementally obsolete for its intended purpose.
In summary any attack by America on China is doomed to failure with the destruction of the USA destruction of Japanese and Korean military infrastructure and the destruction of both the Australian military infrastructure and subsequent economy.
Both China and Russia are buying gold as fast as they can fund it and arming themselves to the teeth with the most advance missile technology in the world of which Russia is the undisputed technological leader.

China does not arm to the teeth which is in fact what American elite always do with their massive budget.
On the contrary China has limited defence budget while pursuing the open policy not to use nukes first and thus China has proved to be the the peace loving nation.
However China knows that to safeguard peace it is no good to beg those American elite who have lots of bombs as well as rather itchy hands.
Thus China must prepare well for all eventualities by developing ability to defend world peace stability and prosperity.

It seems the Guardian has made an editorial decision to shut down any discussion of China related articles. In the past few weeks the number of articles open to comment has been drastically reduced. For example since this article there have been 13 in 3 days and not one zero zilch permit comments.

Funny how America seems to get the blame for the situation around the World today.
It would appear folks are blind and deaf when it comes to countries like ISRAEL U.K. FRANCE SAUDI ARABIA TURKEY AUSTRALIA and quiet a few others who all line up behind the U.S. and give it legitimacy in it's aspirations of World hegemony.
